Q1: What is EMDR Therapy?

A1: EMDR Therapy stands for Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It's a psycho-somatic therapy primarily used to reprocess trauma so that there is a significant decrease in physiological distress to certain triggers. It can be helpful for negative core beliefs as well, not just for PTSD-level trauma. It can be done in-person or virtually.

Q2: Do you take insurance?

A2: No, Giselle Jacob Therapy doesn't accept insurance; however, we can offer Superbills you can submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement.

Q3: Can I still work with you if I live outside the Atlanta area?

A3: Yes, we can provide telemental health counseling to residents of Georgia.

Q4: Does your office have parking?

A4: Yes, there is plenty of free parking in the parking lot on the left-hand side of the building if you're facing it from the street.

Q5: Do you offer Sliding Scale rates?

A5: Giselle Jacob's Sliding Scale slots are full, but you can ask Trisha Beavers if she has any Sliding Scale availability.

Q6: What is holistic psychotherapy?

A6: Holistic psychotherapy is mental health counseling informed by considering the client as a whole person: mind, body, spirit, and environment.

Q7: Do you work with children and/or adolescents?

A7: Giselle Jacob only works with individuals ages 18+, but Trisha Beavers works with individuals ages 14+.

Q8: How do I know if I'm ready for therapy?

A8: Giselle Jacob offers free 15-minute phone consultations, and Trisha Beavers offers free 15-minute video consultations, so schedule a consultation with one of us, and we can figure it out together. We're here for you when you are ready.
